Just outside The Mermaid House you will find miles of an incredible sandy beach and clear turqoise water. You can walk for hours in both directions - it's not only a "bay" - it's a shoreline. 300 yards down the beach to the south is a fantastic coral reef with lots of beautiful coloured fish - the reef offers easy off the beach snorkeling.

The Exumas are one of the most spectacular places in all of the Bahamas to dive, and there are professional dive operators on the island.  They also arrange trips to the interesting nearby cays with f.i. iguanas, swimming pigs etc. The island also offers bonefishing and deepsea-fishing.

Great opportunities for boating and kayaking. Or rent a car and explore the island. In addition, tennis (February Point) and golf can be enjoyed on the island.  Greg Norman par-72, 18 hole championship golf-course is located only 10-15 minutes drive north from The Mermaid House at Sandals Emerald Bay. It's really worth while a visit - it is probably one of the most beautiful locations in the world. At Sandals Emerald Bay you can also enjoy other activities besides they have several nice restaurants and shops.  To visit Sandals you need a daypass or an evening pass. Call Sandals at 242-336-6882 for further information.

So if you are interested in boating (call Minns Watersports 242-336-348), diving (Exuma Scuba Adventures 242-336-2893), fishing, all kind of watersports, kayaking (Starfish 242-336-3033), snorkeling, collecting shells, sanddollars, playing golf or tennis, it can all be possible in Exuma.

Please have a look at www.exumaforyou.com or have a look in the „Welcome book“ in the house. Here you can read about many activities and find the phonenumbers.

However, if you just want to relax - maybe with a lovely Bahama Mama - you cannot find a more beautiful spot  - with a fantastic view - than the Mermaid House - it is so close to Paradise, as you can probably get.
